History and Analysis
986-992 Hancock Street is a row of four three bay, two-and-a-half-story rowhouses with stoops on the left side of the front facade, located between Bushwick Avenue and Broadway. All are covered in vinyl or asphalt siding with most historic ornament removed from the front facade, save the cornice at 992. The wood framed rowhouses were designed by J. Doneghy and built by K. Healy. They were commissioned by Joseph Collins and Jane Doneghy of 66 Woodbine Street in 1885 as a speculative development venture for $2,000 each.
