History and Analysis
This four-story brick building was as a new law tenement, erected at a cost of $30,000 and measured 50’9″, 55’7″ x 96’4″ at a height of 45’7″ tall. A Portland cement stone concrete foundation was laid upon dry clay, and the upper walls were brick with a lime and cement mortar. A flat tin roof and galvanized iron cornices and skylights completed the building. The floors were constructed of wood and steel beams. The building historically functioned as a 21 family tenement.[1] The storefront along Bushwick Avenue has been highly altered.
