History and Analysis
The three-story tenement at 2 Stanwix Street was built between 1880 and 1886 to be 26 feet wide by 50 feet deep and 35 feet high. A framed building, this structure was built on a stone foundation with a flat tin roof. In 1906, it was occupied by six families and two stores.[1] Although the upper stories of 2 Stanwix Street retain their original massing, many of the original facade features have been lost, and the storefront has been greatly altered.
