The six two-story rowhouses at 15-31 Melrose Street was built 1882. Conr. Guthard owned, designed, and built the building that is 20 feet wide by 40 feet deep and 25 feet high. A spruce-framed building with outer walls of pale brick and one-inch siding, this structure was built on a concrete base, with a stone and mortar foundation. It was also built with a flat tin roof at a cost of $2200. Today, the rowhouses exist with a variety of facade finishes including faux siding.
