Designed by Theobald Engelhardt, the nine wood-framed two-story rowhouses at 14 to 28 Arion Place were built together in 1883 by Jno. Sedelmeyer for Chathaine Herrschaft, the original owner who resided at 776 Broadway, at a cost of $3,000.[1] Although the building retains its original massing, many of the original architectural features such as the cornice, lintels, and entryway have been lost and the building has been clad in faux siding.
