History and Analysis


1157-63 Putnam Avenue is a row of four two-and-a -half story brick rowhouses built for $3,800 each in 1889 by John Menahan who resided at 25 Bleecker Street. Two families live in each of the rowhouses. All structures retain a high level of architectural integrity with much of the original characteristics intact, including the brick facade, the stoops, and cornices.
