History and Analysis

1124-26 Putnam Avenue is a row of two two-and-a-half stories wood frame tenements built for $5,000 each in 1888. It was designed by Francis C. Mertz, who was an architect in Port Chester, New York. Both structures retain a high level of architectural integrity with much of the original characteristics intact, as seen in the original drawing of 1888.
